VoIP is an Internet protocol that has the capability to carry normal telephone-style voice over the Internet with improved functionality, reliability and voice quality. Voice information is sent in digital form in discrete packets rather than in the traditional circuit-committed public telephone network.

To use this service you must purchase an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) which will enable you to plug a regular telephone into your Internet connection. The ATA will enable you to make calls whether your PC is on or off, the same way you would with a regular telephone line. The price of the ATA is 150GBP including installation and 5GBP of call time. There are no other service charges - you only pay for the calls you make.
